Donkey Weekend

The Complete Donkey Experience !'

Took place on Saturday 21st & 22nd August 2004 at Rodbaston College of Agriculture, Stafford

Well we ‘did it again’ and it was just brilliant!

A whole weekend of donkeys, even more than came in 2003, from the smallest of miniatures to the largest of the giants.

There was plenty to complain about when it came to travelling, the roads were gridlocked! A lot of blame was laid at the door of the pop festival happening at Weston Park only a few miles down the A5, but even more can be laid at the door of the horrendous weather, and a general decline in our road and traffic system’s ability to cope

However despite there being a multitude of other attractions in the area, we were blessed with plenty of donkey loving public who took advantage of that rare phenomenon the ‘sun’ and indulged in a truly family donkey experience.

There were donkey rides, junior quizzes and colouring competition, a farrier explaining the intricacies of trimming hooves and making donkey shoes, plenty of shopping opportunities and a multitude of superb donkeys – in fact a truly super ‘Donkey Experience'

Our congratulations go to the major winners over the weekend.
