Overstamping

Overstamping.

Where an equine is already registered with another Passport Issuing Authority, it cannot be re-registered with us (or any other PIO). No additional or replacement passport can be issued by us and the animal's name and its Unique Life Number (ULN) cannot be changed.

If, however, it is necessary for the donkey to be registered with us for showing or other purposes (see show schedules etc. for any requirements), the Donkey Breed Society can overstamp the original passport.

When a passport is over-stamped by the DBS, this does NOT imply that the DBS in any way verifies ANY of the information given in the original passport. The original Passport Issuing Organisation will have issued the passport according to their rules in force at the time. The DBS cannot therefore be held liable for any inaccuracies, additions or omissions contained in the original document. No breeding details will have been checked, and any name used should not be assumed to have the same meaning as if it was used in a DBS issued passport.
