Eastern Region commerates International War Animal Day

Commemoration for the IWAD again took place beside the Jimmy’s Grave memorial in Central Park, Peterborough.  The official date is 24th February but we held it early on the Sunday before.  A poem was read out and a purple poppy wreath laid.  Debbi and Tom McKay brought two impeccably well behaved donkeys, mother and son, Addie, aged 10 years and Barney, aged 5 years, they stood patiently and calmly throughout the proceedings and public well wishers afterwards.
